On Friday the 26th November I was on an excursion with my photography course in this exhibition in the Felix-Nussbaum Haus in Osnabrück, Germany were the winners and nominees of Felix Schoeller Photo Award 2015 were presented and it was awesome!
The winning works are exhibited in a large-format and one category winner has a whole wall to themself.
The Award is divided in 5 categories:
For everyone who is interested in photography and has the chance to visit Osnabrück I think it's absolutly worth the visit.
The exhbition still runs 'til the 17.01.2016.
But here is a link to the website of the photo award with all the awarded and nominated works. So if you like you can look at the photos here

The Award is divided in 5 categories:
- Portrait
- Landscape/Nature
- Architecture/Industry
- Photojournalism/Editorial Photography
- Free Choice/Conceptual Photography
There was also an extra category for the best work by an emerging photographer.
So there is this huge range of different types of photography.
The Free Choice/Conceptual Winner kind of reminded me of Gregory Crewdson and I thought the work »Children of the dead river« of Mohammad Fahim Ahamed Riyad was kind of surreal and shocking. You know on one hand there were these happy children playing and on the other hand all the misery and poverty.
Pity I couldn't take any photos with the lack of a photo-license.

Closure of the Institute of Art History Osnabruck
Hey,
today I want to draw attention to something. Unfortunately the Institute of Art History at Osnabrück University shall be closed.
The President's cabinet justifies this decision with the need for resources for the STEM fields in order to raise their profiles and increase their competitiveness amongst other things. I hope some of you consider signing this petition. This petition of the Institute of Art History is adressed to the President's Cabinet of Osnabrück University, for further details visit change.org:

What do you think? - Camera purchase advice.
Maybe someone can help me I want to purchase a DSLR camera and I'm kind of unsure which I should buy.
Naturally I looked at test reports, ratings and reviews but unsuprisingly e.g the same camera was being rated differently by the various pages or customers.
Moreover, I have a rather limited budget. So I have to choose from cameras that are in the my price range.
Beforehand I've chosen some DSLR I think are Ok.
An unbiased review/rating would be nice. You know, with pros and cons and maybe which one you would buy.
Thanks in advance!
